MY
STORY
Being Behind the Lens

Hi, I’m Leah — a lifestyle documentary photographer based in the San Francisco Bay Area, with roots from the foothills of Boulder, Colorado. For about as long as I can remember, I've carried around my trusted Rebel T1i Canon everywhere I go. My uncle gifted me this camera after finding it collecting dust in his attic, and from that day forward I started to see the world from a new perspective- my camera lens. I learned very early on that there is art and beauty in every corner of life. I find myself appreciating the way that small moments often hold the biggest feelings.
Photography, to me, is a way of pausing time — of preserving the emotions living quietly inside a moment before they slip away. As an incredibly nostalgic person, living in a world that never stops moving, I find photography to be grounding. It’s become a form of therapy and a way for me to find comfort by recreating tender feelings long after they’ve passed.

My style of photography blends documentary perspectives with an editorial eye, creating images that feel both authentic and warm. Beauty truly lives in everything, and I’m drawn to stories of all kinds — whether that be a celebration of love, an ordinary day of people passing by, or a quiet landscape that speaks volumes in its silence.

Outside of photography, I work full-time as a wedding planner, which means I spend my days immersed in creativity, emotion, and human connection. Whether I’m coordinating a celebration, wandering through

It is my goal to create work that inspires emotions of love, gratitude and joyful longing. For anyone who I have the pleasure of working with, I want you to be able to look back at your images and feel transported — to the pride you felt holding your new degree, the unconditional love of a warm hug, or even the quiet melancholy of growing up and stepping into a new season of life. Whatever the emotion is, I want to celebrate it honestly and fully.
If you’re drawn to gentle, authentic imagery — and you want someone who cares deeply about preserving more than just the picture — I’d love to hear your story and help you hold onto your most meaningful moments too.
San Francisco’s vibrant neighborhoods, or breathing in the misty landscapes of Northern California, I’m always romanticizing the details- the way light gleams over an old building, the soft smile of the stranger on the phone or the daring pop of color from a new rose lost in the thorns. I hope my photography captures the tenderness and beauty in both the joyful moments and the lonely ones, because both deserve to be honored.

Fun Fact: As a photographer I am basically legally obligated to make a dumb face for every picture of myself ever taken.

MORE FUN FACTS

Fun Fact #3: In addition to my fur babies, I am lucky enough to have a wonderfully loving & silly human family-- who constantly encourage me to be bold, to have fun and to never stop dancing through the rain.

My family are my bestest friends and they are completely to blame for the person I have become and I couldn't be more grateful!

Fun Fact #2: I am the mom to two sweet fur babies and have indeed made them my entire personality. I adopted Daisy, my sassy mutt during the pandemic in 2020 , who quickly became my adventure buddy and most photographed subject by a mile. Mercury came into our lives shortly after and his calm and sweet nature balances out our little family perfectly <3

Fun Fact #5: Travel has always been an integral part of my life and undoubtedly shaped my journey as a photographer. In 2022 I went on a two month long backpacking trip, during which time I saw 16 different countries across 3 different continents ...and managed to bring home all of my nick-nacks and clothes in just these bags pictured below.
Fun Fact #4: I was a competitive gymnast for almost 20 years and competed all across the country. I went on to attend Oregon State University on a full athletic-scholarship for gymnastics where I retired during my first year. Gymnastics taught me everything I know about discipline and perfectionism, but also about movement and balance. I like to think even this different life I once lived still contributes greatly to the work I do today.

Fun Fact #6: I used to want to be a pig when I grew. Eventually I realized that was a pretty unattainable career goal, so nowadays, I settle for just loving pigs with all my heart. This passion is something my mother and I share, along with with our love for the color pink. You think it's a coincidence?
